When the service is poor

When the service is poor, I ________

a. Tip the full amount anyway. Hopefully, that’ll turn things around for them and they’ll serve better for the rest of their customers that day.
b. Tip less. They need to understand that they didn’t earn the full amount.
c. Don’t tip. Tipping is based on performance, and since they didn’t perform, they don’t get the tip.
d. Consult with the manager on duty. Poor service is unacceptable.
e. Let the sever know that you are the reason they have a job.
f. …have got a different kind of tip for this server…
f. Never go back to that restaurant again.
Do you think we, as followers of Christ, have a responsibility to offer grace, even to servers?

Do you think we, as followers of Christ, have a responsibility to offer love and mercy, even to servers?

My wife is a manager of a restaurant, her employees hate working on Sundays they say because no matter how hard they try the “church” people will not tip well.

I think its a double edge sword- tip the full amount and they are not realizing they are giving poor service- Tip less- and its giving they will be of mind that no matter what the customer is going to stiff them-
I was a server for 2o yrs, although I didn’t like it at times, the constructive criticism I received made me want to be a better server. So, I try to tip fully-and maybe offer some constructive criticism however taken. You never know what kind of day the person is having , some compassion might just be the turning point in their day.

I try asking them, “Are you doing ok?” Normally they’re more than willing to talk b/c of having a bad day or whatever…great avenues for the Gospel or just caring…
Normally they get better, b/c they want to b/c they know you care. Then you tip normal or better than normal b/c of good or improved service.
I have had one guy who was clueless, I think he was literally on drugs, so bad we had to get the manager out there, still wasn’t any better…didn’t even understand what we or the manager were telling him.
